My time at Belk was very rewarding and educational. The team I worked with welcomed me and integrated my skill set into their current and new projects. We had a fun and engaging team, who worked well together and supported each other in a collaborate environment. The Belk headquarters, in Charlotte, NC, was a fast-paced hub of activity, with exciting and fun opportunities to contribute or make new friends. There were also plenty of opportunities to migrate to other areas of the corporation. Great Place to Work!!

In the latter years of my employment with belk, it became more and more unstable which of course effects the Morale and stability in your own position and financial future. Instead of having a position that you are responsible for and feel pride in, each day you go in and will be told to do something you have little experience in and expected to perform at 110%. For me it was a task/position I did not apply for nor would have. In my first 16 years the company was good to me with promotions, relocations and a company that supported family. The now company you would work for You will work every holiday! Will not have any real job title. Have HR that does not have time to help you get benefits offered to you. And there was information being leaked That a large number of commissioned employees were not being paid properly. Could only recommend Belk if waiting for another company to make an offer.

I worked for the company for 15 plus years. It was great when it was family owned but quickly changed with it was bought out. Salaried management was not treated well but the perks were great. There was a lot of pressure to stay late, work on vacation and sacrifice your family for work.
