Cleveland Jewish Orphan Asylum, founded in 1868, established a new campus in Fairmount Boulevard in Shaker, in 1928. This is now known as Bellefaire JCB. It is one of the largest child service agencies in the country. It is committed to providing a variety of substance abuse, behavioral health, education, and prevention services. Through more than 25 programs, they aim to help over 30,000 youngsters and their families each year to achieve dignity, resiliency, and self-sufficiency. They offer School-based Counseling, Outpatient Counseling, Prevention and Early Intervention (SAY - Social Advocates for Youth), Domestic and International Adoption (Hague-accredited), Homeless and Missing Youth Program, and Foster Care. Their Residential Treatment including Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Crisis Stabilization and Assessment, Transitional and Independent Living, and Autism Therapeutic Residential. They are also home to the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters Association, JDN Early Childhood Center, and Monarch Center for Autism, which offers programs and services for ages 3 through adulthood.
