Who you’ll be working with:

  • Report to Sr. Benefits Manager
  • Partner with a strong and supportive HR team
  • Manage 3-5 team members

 

How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Manage and coach a team of 3-5 benefits professionals.
  • Ensure your team has a thorough understanding of the business to address complex needs; train, mentor and empower the team to develop the necessary subject matter expertise to excel in day-to-day service delivery as well as conduct on-going continuous improvement efforts focused on cost, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide analysis and support for the planning, development, compliance and communication of cost effective, competitive and valued employee benefit plans.
  • Partner with Sr. Benefits Manager to create and execute multi-year benefit strategy to manage costs and stay current with emerging benefits trends and legislative requirements.
  • Partner closely with the business, HR Business Partners and other HR groups to build on the current platform of benefits.
  • Create and build successful relationships with benefits vendors and brokers to lead benefit Request for Proposals and benefit plan and new vendor implementations.
  • Work collaboratively with finance and payroll staff to reconcile plan financials, plan contributions, and related funding issues.
  • Prepare and analyze health and welfare and retirement data for compliance testing; ensure testing deadlines are met and results clearly documented.
  • Lead annual enrollment and year-end processing including, internal system updates to plans, internal annual enrollment updates, special vendor feeds, and company eligibility/enrollment file distribution to vendors.
  • Prepare employee benefits communication and education.
  • Share innovative thinking to create solutions or new designs that support organizational business needs.
  • Scale administration of benefits through innovative, technology-intensive solutions that fit our culture.

 

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Human Resources degree, Business degree, or related area; Bachelor's required
  • 8+ years of benefits design and experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory and management experience
  • Excel skills with the ability to create, analyze and audit complex spreadsheets using advanced features such as pivot tables, vlookup, etc.
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within targeted deadlines
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively verbally and in writing and work collaboratively with internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ACA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPPA, SECTION 125, IRS and DOL requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced productive team environment
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interact with diverse client groups

Benefits Manager Salary: $88,000 - $110,000 + bonus, based on experience
