I started to work at bergen community college when I required money for my own wants and needs at first, I was pressed and somewhat fearful I would not be a good pick. However, by staying with the process and maintaining a well balanced work ethic, quickly did I find my footing into the workforce and gained support from my co-workers along the way.

Pros and Cons
friendly environment, free lunches, holiday bonus, dental
none I can think of at the time.

Culture and Values
20+ years no promotions, no recognitions or opportunities to grow. Same title regardless of furthering personal education to an advanced graduate degree and despite all efforts volunteering on many areas of the institution’s initiatives and projects. Racist and discriminatory environment.

Pros and Cons
Great medical benefits and time off especially when reaching maximum longevity.
Everything! Toxic environment, lack of appreciation, no recog/promotion, and no opportunity to grow

I was an adjunct professor for the fall of 2017. I taught Success 101. This course taught the mental and intellectual skills needed to graduate from college.

Pros and Cons
I appreciated the support given to me as a newcomer teacher.
I was not called back to teach.
