Getting the hand of everything is rather difficult if you have no sports or clothing experience, but once you get it down it's just like any other retail job and can be quite exciting being surrounded by unique sports products since not a lot of sporting goods stores are around anymore.

With any job, the people make or break a place. With Big 5, no exception and had incredible staff. They were friendly and relaxed as long as you did your job- which was in no way difficult. I worked in a slower location, which was nice until it got too slow some days. But otherwise no complaints.

Great place to climb the ladder quickly. I enjoyed the manager meeting days. You meet everyone from different districts and during manager training's you get to travel.

I love it at Big 5. My manager is seriously the best. He makes it enjoyable to be working. I get to work, tidy my work space, help customers, tidy clothing racks, and have fun with my co-workers while we work.

I worked at Big 5 for almost 3 years. I started as a cashier and then moved to being a sales associate. There are many opportunities to learn about the products and move up to a manager if you want to. I enjoyed working with all of the people employed there.
