Overall the job itself was fun , I enjoyed my coworkers and loved all the customers who shopped every day, I loved being able to see and put up all the new stock and merchandise, but overall I worked there for 11 months and was never recognized for my good work ethics , never recognized for my good deeds, never recognized for any good I did in my job, I was never thanked or felt like I was doing my job correctly because it was always criticized by the Store Manager Mike, a man with a hateful attitude towards employees and customers at times, I’ve seen and heard him talk countless times about employees work ethics and customers. I’ve heard him say multiple inappropriate things to me or other female employees that a man who is over your head as a boss should never say to a lady who is your EMPLOYEE. Most of all just unprofessional and unorganized 100% !! Thank you

Pros and Cons
30 mins lunches , free lunches sometimes , 20% off all store items each day , and 30% off furniture

I was promised 40 hours a week and was told I would get their toys and clothes section settled since it was a new area and I was a manager at fashion bug and worked other retail jobs. I worked 10 or less hours a week. They put me on cash register ONLY and they paid me under minimum wage and what they discussed with me when I interviewed.

It was ok, wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great. The upper levels seem to do nothing and fire any management they can find an excuse for. There’s no working with you, just a fire you because you’re about to get a raise and we will find reasons.

No consistency in schedule. Often didn’t know the schedule, even as an assistant manager, until the week of. Would often have my schedule changed from 8 am open shifts to 4 am stocking shifts and not find out until middle of the afternoon before hand. No regard for work-life balance. Corporate has no communication with the goings on of the store. Expected to handle shoplifters and prevent theft without being allowed to do so and in a violent neighborhood. Horrible employee retention. Always short staffed. And company tech support is non responsive

Pros and Cons
Weekly pay rather than bi weekly
No work life balance, no moral, no schedule consistency, low pay, poor corporate management.

After being hired as the Bookkeeper a position I held for about 4 to 5 years. I had obtained my Bachelor's Degree in applied sciences, accounting and business management. I promoted to Associate manager and that was it. I was informed that I had reached the height of pay scale available and so I needed a less strenuous workload and more money. They had awesome benefits for their full-time employees.

Pros and Cons
Good people clear assignments.
I topped out on pay scale. I needed to change due to health and financial concerns

All the company cares about is reward cards. Employees are just a number to them instead of an actual human being. Nothing you do is ever good enough from a higher up stand point. Unless numbers are being met. They are never met across the board. Severe lack of training or ongoing training in all departments. Most of the coworkers were great to work for. But at this point all the good workers have quit and moved on to better companies/jobs cause they got tired of the way the company was run and the district manager running it. Turn over rate there is very high.

Discounts are great
