BioFire Diagnostics was founded in 1990 and is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. BioFire Diagnostics LLC sells medical equipment. Blood culture identification,  meningitis, gastrointestinal, and lower respiratory panels are also available from the company. Over 70 patents are now held by the company in the field of polymerase chain reaction (PCR), including fast PCR cycling. The company has successfully marketed approximately 200 items to the clinical, scientific, and military industries using its substantial patent portfolio. The BioFire System panels, which have been cleared by the FDA, look for viruses, parasites, bacteria, yeast, and antibiotic resistance genes. Whether determining appropriate medication for a septic patient or determining which respiratory infection is causing a young child to become ill, the BioFire System can deliver definite answers quickly.
