Blackhawk Network was established in 2001, and launched a gift card category for grocery shops which shook the branded payments business. At the time, the only method to get a merchant gift card was to go to the company's physical presence. The original in-store display consisted of only six cards, but the concept immediately gained traction. We now have over 1,000 brands in areas such as food, entertainment, shopping, home improvement, and many others. We had an initial public offering (IPO) in 2013, trading under the symbol HAWK, which kicked off a period of rapid expansion. It distributes branded physical and digital gift, phone, prepaid debit, and incentive cards both online and through a global store network.
