Working with BCBS for 31 years were good years. My experience with Management was a blessing, and I worked with caring and compassionate people. I traveled and had the opportunity to meet some very special people, in whom I developed good relationship with. I am forever grateful for BCBS, my co workers, because they were like family.

Pros and Cons
I worked in a very friendly environment in the Marketing department.
There were none for me

Worked for BCBS-MN for 12 years and had to leave due to medical reasons. Best place I have worked by far. My immediate supervisors team members and co workers were all working towards the same common goal and got along wonderfully. I truly miss that place. I highly recommend employment with the entire “Blue” brand!

Pros and Cons
Great benefits
A lt of changes in the industry.

What it's like being a personal health advocate. When your personal health advocate you answer the phones and acknowledge people of what's going on with their claims their benefits questions they have about their benefits if they need a pre-authorization or not for procedure they had done or going to get done. You're really there to acknowledge them about their health plan and make them know that we do care for them

Pros and Cons
Good benefits caring work environment and really good people
Learning how to run the benefits for people

There are about three different supervisors and only one good supervisor. Supervisor is a two-faced. Multiple Representatives have quit due to this one supervisor as well. Others tolerate it due to the fact that we need the job.

Pros and Cons
Always busy
Being pulled in two directions by different supervisors

I worked very hard and was structured for me to work 7-4 through Kelly Services with an opportunity to get hired. Sometimes you just get really crazy schedules, for example, my break times were 2:15 to 2:30 for my first break and my lunch was 30 minutes 3. Working all day meant when you started you worked without a break unless you really rush to use the rest room. The times were set by an automated program. They had not time for your problems so just working without a break with high call volume was just a few of the tough experiences you were just expected to "take it on the chin". There was nice people and nice work environment.

Pros and Cons
liked the agency that I worked for.
you are just a number on some level.

This was one of the best companies in SC to work for. I worked from 99-2011. I was let go from this company because I was lacking in completing my task when working on everyone else's issues with clients. When a team member didn't understand how to help a client they would come to me 99% of the time instead of management. The only reason I was let-go from the company was because I told my Director that my manager hung up a phone call in mid conversation with a client. I was upset but he didn't understand I was doing my job when he was being unprofessional. I spoke with the the Director with my manager and thought that was the end of the conversation. 2 weeks later he had a red folder with my name. The Director was on vacation during this time. To this day I will always believe that BCBS was my very first job that gave me a chance to learn and adapt to new things. Overall BCBS is a great place to work!!

Pros and Cons
Excel at teaching and training
Will need a degree to have a higher position

I accepted my job at blue cross thinking it would be a company I could advance in and I felt it would be a secure place to work. After 4 years of employment , in 2011 the company made the decision to down size. So a large number of employees were left with no job. My department was relocated to Oklahoma. I think bluecross, unfortunately had the view-point that because of the current market (2011) at the time , and fear of not increasing revenue considerably was their main objective so down sizing was the option they choose. So I learned a valuble lesson that no matter how long standing a company is , there are no guarantees. Bluecross I feel is a company which has its rules and they must be followed with no exceptions. It's definitely a very strict environment.

Pros and Cons
Great insurance coverage
Constantly micro managed
