Brazos County TEXAS is a county in Texas, United States. It had a population of 194,851 according to the 2010 census. The population was estimated to be 229,211 in July 2019. Bryan is the county seat. The county, like Brazoria County, is named after the Brazos River, which forms its western border. The county was established in 1841 and incorporated in 1843. Brazos County is part of the Bryan-College Station, Texas MSA, which includes College Station, Bryan and smaller cities and towns in Burleson, Brazos and Robertson counties. Originally one of the poorer counties in the state, the county donated 2,416 acres of land to establish Texas A&M University in the 1870s, allowing the county to be one of the strong county by economically.
