As someone who has experienced two terrorist attacks at the original WTC, I have come to appreciate good communication. This was lacking at Brookfield. An example of this would be two fires at a newly opened restaurant and no implemented Emergency Action Plan. This was disturbing to me as property can be replaced and money made, but loss of life is something very serious to me.

Pros and Cons
The office workers were friendly, professional and very helpful.
Could be a dynamite place, but little internal communication between the trades and management.

I was hired by Forest City, which was then bought by Brookfield. Forest City was an excellent employer interested in developing the careers of its employees. Brookfield is not. The property manager I worked under was inappropriate, expecting me to work off the clock, denying meal penalties, and gossiping about employee pay. I was met with opposition when bringing these concerns to light. The list goes on. Avoid this company.

Pros and Cons
PTO was good, and you need it to stay sane.
Extremely toxic work environment.
