Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is the sixth-supreme school district which was established in 1915 with its headquarters based in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It is the first completely accredited school system in Florida since 1962 and contains almost 261,000 students and approximately 110,000 adult students in 241 schools, centers and technical colleges and 92 charter schools. It provides a diverse student population which represents 170 different countries and 147 different languages. The mission of BCPS is that it is dedicated to educating all students to reach their highest potential and its vision is to educate today’s students so that they can succeed in tomorrow’s world along with that it inspires, energizes and serves a prolonged term view. The District is one of the supreme employers in Broward County with almost 39,000 full and part time employees in a variety of jobs.
