The Data Center Operation Monitoring Team operates 24X7 in support of the NASA and is in Huntsville, AL. Team members have responsibility for monitoring a variety of Information Technology Services that support NASA. These systems include, but are not limited to, desktop/laptop computer patching, Exchange (email), SPAM filter appliances, and backup services. Opening and managing incident tickets for identified issues, as well as day-to-day incident management. The team also has the responsibility of coordinating scheduled and unscheduled service outages for the Agency, which includes all NASA Centers located across the United States. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing analysis and generating reports, interfacing with management and customers while working toward the resolution of problems.
" High School Diploma " Two years of post-high school education or equivalent experience " Call Center/Help Desk/Service Desk experience (at least 2 years) " Microsoft Desktop applications including Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), OneNote and others. " Office 365 is a plus! " Background in IT Services including Networking, Security, etc. " ITIL certification is a plus! " Excellent and demonstrable communication skills " Active Public Trust or higher security clearance " Microsoft Operating Systems including Windows 7 and 10 " Mac Desktop Operating Systems including OS X and macOS " RedHat Linux Operating System a plus! " Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 " Help Desk/Service Desk experience The Monitoring Team operates a 24x7x365 service. All candidates must be willing and able to work 2nd or 3rd shift and understand and accept that irregular work weeks including Saturday, Sunday and Holidays may be required.
