What does a Business Development Manager do?

As business development managers, our primary goal is to generate revenue for our organization by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. We lead initiatives to generate and engage with business partners, enter into new markets, or reach existing markets in new ways. The exact nature of our job depends on the industry, but usually we attend various networking events, reach out to potential customers, or respond to incoming leads. Coordinating across departments, we develop sales strategies, proposals and sales pitches.
