Job Summary:
As a Business Resource Manager at Caterpillar,you will be responsible for all financial accounting and reporting functions ata business unit, with multiple product groups and facilities, or servicecenter, ensuring compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and the overall integrity of thefinancial reporting function. You will provide leadership and support for thedevelopment and implementation of business, finance and operational strategiesof their business unit, and is responsible for the overall business riskmanagement process, the control environment, and the business analysis anddecision support functions of the business unit.
JobDuties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Monthly accounting and financial reporting - Analyze and critique informationfor conformance with US and local GAAP, corporate guidelines and reasonabilitylevels, ensuring financial reporting integrity is always maintained
* Ensure a strong and effective internal control environment is in place andadequately documented and tested
* Lead and ensure the unit's compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
* Business Analysis and Decision Support - Establishment of target costs andcost monitoring, new product introduction analysis, value chain analysis,investment analysis, and coordinating financial leadership on mergers andacquisitions with the Strategic Investment Group utilizing an enterpriseperspective
* Annual business plan, monthly rolling business management, long term forecastassociated with EOR/SRC (Executive Office Review/Strategic Review Conference),volume flexibility planning, and incentive compensation plans
* Strategy planning process - Long-term strategic development, quarterlystrategic assessments and short -term tactical planning to ensure growth andfinancial success
* Business Risk Management governance process
* 6 Sigma value creation and validation including the direct sponsorship of 6Sigma projects with accountability for the validation and reporting of benefitsfrom 6 Sigma projects sponsored by the business unit
* New Product Introduction support including proper sourcing, manufacturingprocess and price levels needed to remain competitive
* Commercial activities such as purchasing, sales to external customers,working with service providers and/or responsibility for making design changesfor customers
* Demand Management and Pricing function - Coordinate the ordering andscheduling, pricing strategy and annual price plan development for products,develop pricing analysis and evaluate business scenarios of various pricingstrategies including predictions of competitive reactions, work with productgroups and marketing companies to review plans that establish prices on a worldwidebasis
* Information services infrastructure, strategy, and execution
* Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP), overall Order Fulfillment, andClass A improvement processes
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree within an Accounting or Finance related field
* 13 years ofprogressively responsible job-related experience within financialaccounting, reporting and analysis, cost accounting, and/or budgetdevelopment
* Prior experienceinvolving technical accounting and reporting issues
Top Candidates will also have:
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university
* Credentialed expertise - Certified Public Accountant or Certified ManagementAccountant
* Knowledge of theCaterpillar organization, and its products, policies and procedures
* Excellent leadership,interpersonal, and communication skills are required in order to deal withsensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside thedepartment to take specific action
