Started out good, but recent management changes made the work environment intolerable. The after filing a formal complaint using the company system I was assured there is no retaliation, ya right... The Store manager is a bully. The sad part is the store had really great managers but this company operates like Sears or K-Mart I predict as soon as Jonny Morris is gone the company will go the way of K-Mart.... Little effort in advancing qualified people if you're a boot licker you'll do fine. Additionally for a company that claims it's about family values, expect to work Thanksgiving day and Christmas Eve.

Pushing Credit Card, closing then opening the next morning, working holidays.

Not what I expected yet everything I expected in the "bad" way.. The work wasn't hard, the shifts weren't hard, the level of skill was minimal. However, everything was reactionary, your shifts were never standardized, and the management tended to "bend" the rules especially if a "dirty" job came up while Maintenance was on break or lunch. But again it's retail so some shady deals were expected.

Pros and Cons
The managers who truely enjoyed the company really tried to boost morale.
No set schedual, grand ideas with little thought behind them.

Pay was great but management was horrible lots of perks but I'm pretty sure it's a work from home job now. Human resources was awful I was fired due to a injury.

they were changing the night crew to days and i could not, due to my sons disability and his dads schedule. I was there 2 years and I loved it, I was sad to go!

I would love to go back if I could get the right fit. The only reason I left was a foot problem in that I could not stand for more than four or so hours

Enjoyed my department and co-workers. Enjoyed working all sorts of clientele. Worst part working at Cabela’s was the manager support. Felt like I was just another worker on the floor. Never any recognition or support.

I had a blast working at cabellas for the departmrnt i was in i had a lot of experience with the products we sold. The other employees where great and i left making lots of good close freinds in the time i was there. A word of caution though this is not a place ehere you rank up within the company they woupd rather higher out than within. Managmrnt is alright depends from store to store my location had a good mix of both but we were also a top dog store so if we were not on top of our game upper managment woupd through a fit to the genral manager and that trickled down to us. Low end managers are great better known as leads they tend to stick there neck out for there employees. There managment style has been changing a lot in the last 2 years so well see how that impact goes. Pay is alright benefits are great best discount and for fulltime employees you really get a lot for the little you have to pay so anyone going here take advantage of it i sure did!

Pushing the company credit card worse now than it was when i started, managment, pay, hours as well.
