Based in Huntington, West Virginia, the Cabell Huntington Hospital was established to meet the needs of the changing community. In 1945, the city of Huntington and its surrounding regions were expanding and growing so rapidly that there was a dearth of acute care and medical facilities. Industrial leaders, community organizations, and professionals from the medical community gathered together to consider setting up a new hospital in the area. As plans gathered shape, funds were required to start building the hospital, and in 1952 the citizens of the area demonstrated impeccable support for the concept and approved the issuance of $3 million bonds by a mammoth 88 percent majority. Phase 1 of the hospital completed in 1963 and Phase 2 completed in 1976. Some of the services rendered by the hospital include senior services; surgical weight control; joint replacement; emergency and trauma, and more. Prospective candidates can search for open jobs at the hospital by visiting its official website’s career page.
