All Cal graduates have rewarding links to the university, fellow alumni, and current students through the Cal Alumni Association (CAA). The Cal Alumni Association was founded in 1872 by the first graduates of the University of California and now represents more than half a million alumni worldwide. CAA's objective is to advance and promote the university's interests by offering critical programs and services that keep alumni of all ages and interests connected to the university and to one another. Their aim is to link alumni with one another and with their alma mater in order to develop and promote the interests of the University of California, Berkeley. CAA provides outstanding health care and additional benefits, as well as a 403(b) plan and a significant paid-time-off benefit. They offer a warm, easygoing, but professional atmosphere and they take pride in their collaborative approach. CAA workers are expected to deposit 10% of their total medical premium for the employee and 20% for any qualified dependents to a 403(b) retirement savings plan with a company match.
