Cal Poly Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona, CPP, or Cal Poly) is a public university in Pomona, California, that is nationally regarded for assisting students in achieving economic success within the California State University system. In 1938, the Voorhis School for Boys and its surrounding farm in San Dimas became the southern campus of the California Polytechnic School donated by Charles Voorhis and his son Jerry Voorhis. It presently provides 94 undergraduate degrees, 39 master's degrees, 13 teaching certificates, and a doctorate through nine different academic colleges. Cal Poly Pomona has the seventh biggest on-campus housing system in the California State University system, with 3,519 students. In 2016, college housing was home to 39 percent of first-year students and 10 percent of total students.
