California State University, Fresno is a public university originated in 1911 and located in Fresno, California at the foot of the Sierra Nevada range in the middle of the state comprising an overall undergraduate enrollment of 21,462, its setting is urban, and the campus size is 363 acres. It was started as a teacher’s college and currently offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 60 areas of study utilizing a semester-based academic calendar. The university is ranked 196th in the National Universities according to the 2021 edition of Best Colleges and ranks 100 in Top Public Schools with a Student- Faculty ratio of 23:1. As of the February 1, 2016 update, it is classified as a doctoral university with moderate research activity in the Carnegie Classification. California State University, Fresno was the initial of all 23 CSU campuses to provide an individual-campus doctorate wherein its members are nationally ranked Top 10 Equestrian Teams.
