About
Description
We, the cancer registrars, manage databases of cancer patients, record information that might be used to aid in the detection of cancer earlier, improve treatments alongside increase survival rates. We examine pathology and overall medical records to realize the eligibility of a patient for the cancer registry. Making abstracts of medical records via translation of the medical terminology into standardized codes, which record the patient's diagnosis and treatment information are also included in our duties.
Core tasks:
- collecting information from patients, doctors, medical records, and their families
- contacting discharged patients and take follow-up information from their families
- complying with state regulations and medical ethics
