Founder-led by Chairman and CEO Richard Fairbank, Capital One Financial Corporation is a diversified banking company focused primarily on consumer and commercial lending and deposit origination. The company pioneered the use of predictive modeling in the industry, and still looks at credit with a view to changing the way people live. It was also the first company to develop and offer mass customization and personalization of credit card products. Capital One has an innovative, open culture where meritocracy trumps titles and hierarchy, where associates with diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences are brought together in an environment where they can challenge the status quo and reimagine money.

I started with HSBC, then capital one bought them out. I started as a customer service rep, then promoted to CRT team. With that team I was in charge of sup calls and payment investigations. My overall best call was from a customer that had an unlimiited amount of credit, tried to use his card at a airport and was declined. what had happened was his payment posted to the wrong account. I was able to find the payment and turn his card back on. customer was very satisifed

Pros and Cons
Great family company treated employees very well and cared about each and every one of us

In my role as a QA Engineer at Capital One, I had the privilege of being part of a dynamic team that was dedicated to delivering exceptional financial services to our customers. The journey began with my initial exposure to the company's innovative culture and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction. One of the standout experiences during my time at Capital One was my involvement in a critical project that aimed to enhance the mobile banking experience. As a QA Engineer, my responsibilities were to ensure that the mobile app was not only free of bugs but also provided a seamless and secure experience for our users. As I reflect on my experience at Capital One, I carry forward the lessons and values that have shaped me as a QA Engineer. It was a journey filled with challenges, growth, and a deep sense of purpose. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of a team that truly prioritized quality and customer satisfaction.

I was only able to work here for about a year before they closed down and moved locations. This was a fun place to work, stressful at times (especially if you’re shy) but pay and bonuses were worth it. My boss was absolutely amazing and made you feel more comfortable when you were stressed or frustrated.

Pros and Cons
Fun atmosphere, training, company outings, games, bonuses

It os a nice place to work, bit the management is not the best, there is a lot of favoritism and if you work as a temporary contractor you are not recognized as an employee they see you as a number and you do not get any review and if they do not need you they let you go with no explanation,it is a lot to learn because they have in-house applications and softwares that you can use and have some hans on. They give you a load of work every month bigger and bigger and you do not see any raise,if you ask for one they limit you to use the tools to help the customers and make you look bad and come back to you stating that you cannot get the raise because of your performance. For college students or just to get some experience it is ok.

Pros and Cons
Free snaks
No advance or raises

Started out in auto which was decent, wanted to progress and moved up as far and promotions and that's when everything went left. Unprofessional biiig time in business banking. It was ridiculous for the employees and the customers. Tried to report all the unprofessional parts that was going on and "NO ONE " wanted to listen, and it's like you're marked and treated unfairly after you report the wrong doing. Sad...
