Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist - Cherry Hill Electrophysiology Lab
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Cardiac Electrophysiology
Technologist (0.9 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Electrophysiology Lab at
Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Cardiac Electrophysiologist assists assists the physician in the
invasive testing and/or treatment of patients in the Electrophysiology
Lab. Responsible for providing specialized technical support and
assistance to the physician in the precise diagnostic mapping of
patient-specific lesions, related testing and treatment of adult and
pediatric patients. This position troubleshoots equipment problems and
works closely with Clinical Engineering staff to maximize the
functionality of the equipment and minimize downtime.
In this position you will:
Provides technical expertise on the operation of all of the
equipment used in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab including
monitoring, recording and mapping systems and equipment used for
ablations. Demonstrates a functional understanding of the
radiology imaging equipment.
Demonstrates an understanding of the features of various catheters
and other supplies used for EP procedures and is able to assist
with complex cases.
Demonstrates a knowledge and ability to interpret complex cardiac
rhythms during procedures in the EP lab.
Demonstrates a knowledge and ability to interpret hemodynamic
pressures and wave forms.
Demonstrates the ability to safely scrub and assist the physician
during the EP procedures including implantation of cardiac rhythm
management device procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
If qualifying as Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist:
* Must be a graduate of a two-year invasive cardiology program or
IBHRE endorsed certificate or degree program (at least twelve
(12) month duration) or equivalent.
* One (1) year of recent Invasive Cardiology Laboratory experience
or graduate of certificate or degree program in
* At the time of hire, is required to be certified by the
Washington State Department of Health as a Cardiovascular
Invasive Specialist (CVIS); Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology
Specialist (RCES); Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
(RCIS) or Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)
* If qualifying as a Radiologic Technologist:
* Must be a graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
* Must have two (2) years of cath lab/IR experience.
* Must be licensed by Washington State as a Certified Radiologic
Technologist, Diagnostic license required; Must have Radiologic
Technologist registry by ARRT at time of hire; Within one year
of entering the position must obtain one of the following: ARRT
post primary certification (CI) Cardiac Interventional
Radiography -OR- (VI) Vascular Interventional Radiography -OR become certified by the Washington State Department of Health as
a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS).
* Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at
time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military
Training Network (MTN).
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
