Langley Steinert, co-founder of TripAdvisor, launched CarGurus in 2006 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, seeing a chance to improve the car-shopping experience using technology and data analytics. CarGurus has grown to become the most popular automotive shopping site in the United States, with more automobile listings than any other major online automotive marketplace. CarGurus also has locations in Canada and the United Kingdom. In October 2017, CarGurus began trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
