A non-profit organization, Carnegie Hall opened in 1891 on 57th Street and Seventh Avenue (New York). The organization is run on generous donations of the people and organizations to render educational, music and programming services to the audiences. Presently, Bank of America (the organization’s sponsor) will double any donation in excess of 500,000. Carnegie Hall has three main venues: Stern Auditorium (also called Perelman Stage), Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall. Through its Weill Music Institute the organization sponsors several educational initiatives across the city. The Mission of Carnegie is to deliver impeccable music performances on its three venues to a wide range of audiences, to invest in futuristic educational initiatives, and to increase the awareness of music through newer artists and works.
