About Category Director

What does a Category Director do?

As Category Directors, we are responsible for optimizing sales of a particular group of products and manage pricing and inventory fields. We handle marketing and merchandise displays for specific categories of products and analyze sales data. Meeting with suppliers and reviewing planograms is one of our main responsibilities. We ensure company product categories are optimized for sales and marketing and research and analyze trends in sales and consumer behavior. We draft reports for the organization to enhance sales and implement planograms for shelf displays. Working as Category Directors, we communicate with suppliers and negotiate about products.
