Since 1941, Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties has provided comprehensive health and welfare assistance to all persons in Genesee County, bringing hope to thousands of people. Catholic Charities was established solely for the purpose of maintaining and strengthening families. As It continues to provide services that improve the quality of life for everyone in the community, the mission remains the cornerstone of the work. The programs are always changing to meet the needs and desires of the communities it serves. The services include counselling, prevention, adoption and foster care, education, and outreach, three soup meals and three sandwich programs, a Warming Center and Community Closet, as well as a transportation programs for children and adults who are homeless.
