It can be considered as one of the private community action agencies in the United States. It is a member of the Community Action Partnership network. CEDA was established in 1965 under the Economic Opportunity Act by President Lyndon B. Johnson. The corporate headquarter is located in Chicago, Illinois, the United States. CEDA offers service programs related to education, emergency assistance, employment, workforce training, energy conservation, health, and housing counseling services for more than 300,000 residents throughout Cook County, Illinois every year.
