What you’ll do:

As a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician, you are an integral part of the organization. You are responsible for setting up medical equipment as well as providing patient care. Functioning as a contributing member of a health care team, which meets the needs of the patient through effective communication and commitment to quality outcomes.

What you’ll need for this job:

  • 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

  • Minimum Education Required: HS Diploma plus training acquired through work experience and education

  • Licensure/Certification Required: CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Tech) or Bonent Certification

  • REQUIRED: CPR/BLS - American Heart Association

We, the hemodialysis technicians, are medical specialists and we have the training in the working of a dialysis machine. Our duties include monitoring those patients who need to undergo dialysis treatment, ensuring the usage of the dialysis machine is secure and safe while we adjust removal rates of patient fluid as required. We, as hemodialysis technicians, work closely with patients to ensure they are comfortable during the treatment.

Core tasks:

  • working with nurses and doctors to make sure the equipment runs smoothly
  • assembling the dialysis machine to ensure it is sterilized and in working order before starting a procedure
  • recording patient’s information
  • ensuring the patient is in the correct position for the treatment
