About Certified Veterinary Technician

What does a Certified Veterinary Technician do?

As Certified Veterinary Technicians, it is our job to perform the tasks assigned to us by the senior veterinary. We are skilled enough to provide first aid to injured animals and those going through other health issues. Our job requires us to draw blood, perform the lab work and X-ray, and give the injections or medicines suggested by the veterinarian to the pet patient. Gathering the pets' previous and updating their current health status also is our responsibility. We also educate the owners of animals regarding their health issues and the importance of frequent visits to vets.

  • collecting specimens and assisting in research
  • preparing the animals for treatment
  • conducting an initial examination of the animal
