About Chaplain

What does a Chaplain do?

As Chaplains, we are responsible for maintaining and overseeing places of worship in a given institution. We work in both public and private institutions such as schools, hospitals, religious organizations and certain companies. We supervise and monitor all religious activities in the institutions where we work. Our role also involves providing pastoral services to families, staff, caregivers and patients. We equally maintain a professional working relationship in the institutions. We act as representatives of the religious communities in the specific institutions. We help to mobilize and coordinate resources in churches and channel the same to the needy in the community.

Core tasks:

  • disseminating religious teachings and guidance to families, members of staff and patients
  • leading pastoral activities in the institutions and communities
  • maintaining good working relationships amongst families and the members of staff in the institutions
  • listening to people's grievances and adressing them impartially and with high levels of professionalism
