About Chemical Process Engineer

What does a Chemical Process Engineer do?

As Chemical Process Engineers, we are responsible for developing new industrial processes and designing new process plants and equipment. We test new processes and collect the data required to make improvements and modifications. We oversee the construction of new plants and purchase and install new equipment. Supervising plant operations and developing process simulations to work out the best production methods is part of our daily responsibilities. We investigate and troubleshoot plant problems and coordinate work within the approved budget. We ensure the equipment works to its specifications and assess the safety and environmental issues. Working as Chemical Process Engineers, we liaise with installation engineers and specialists.

  • ensure safe working conditions
  • follow standard operating procedures while dealing with chemicals
  • schedule work within the timeline
