Truett Cathy, the creator of Chick-fil-A, founded his first restaurant, the Dwarf Grill, in Hapeville, Georgia, just south of the Atlanta Airport, in 1946. Years later, after creating and honing his Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Truett became a pioneer in the fast service restaurant sector by launching his first - and only - Chick-fil-A Restaurant in a shopping mall in 1967. Since then, the Chick-fil-A system has grown by more than 48 percent and extended to over 2,000 stores in 43 states and the District of Columbia.
