Job Summary

Please Note: This is an internal recruitment open to current benefits eligible Eastern Washington University employees only.

The College of Social Sciences and the School of Social Work at Eastern Washington University is currently seeking internal applicants for a Wednesday?s Child Program Coordinator position located in Boise, Idaho for their Wednesday?s Child Adoption Recruitment Program.

Under general direction, this position will provide support to the Wednesday?s Child Recruitment & Retention Specialist, coordinate special projects, conduct training, provide data collection, and technical and administrative support services. Position will exercise independent judgment and discretion relating to program policies, guidelines and contracts and in implementing, interpreting and applying program procedures and policies.

In the course of performing the position?s duties, this position will serve as a support to provide sustainability of the Idaho Wednesday?s Child Adoption Recruitment Program. Position will have extensive involvement with staff and the public in carrying out program activities, and will coordinate, schedule and monitor program activities to determine consistency with program goals.

Conditions of Employment

You must be a current benefits eligible employee of Eastern Washington University.

This is a 100% project position funded under a grant contract. Continuation of this project position is contingent on availability of contract funding.

This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

Required Condition of Employment: Must have access to personal transportation, a valid driver?s license, and a clean driving record, including no DUI citations.

The position will be located in Boise, Idaho.

  • At least two years of full time work experience that must be relevant to the program that this position supports (Wednesday?s Child Adoption Recruitment Program). To be considered qualifying, your work experience must include at least two of the following kinds of work experiences listed below; be sure to clearly identify in your cover letter how you meet this requirement:
    • Child-welfare permanency and/or other types of child-welfare services.
    • Recruiting program participants, community partnerships, or organizations.
    • Responsibility for reports, including assisting with writing, completing, presenting.
    • Coordinating special projects of major importance
    • Acting as a liaison to employees, colleagues and representatives at other agencies, institutions, organizations, business industry and government; liaison responsibilities should include interpreting policies and making decisions
    • Marketing support and website maintenance relevant to the position (see job description for examples performed by this position), including managing dissemination of communications.
    • Conducting specialized training
  • Strong computer skills to include using a complex database and/or data systems, and standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Two years? experience maintaining both manual and electronic records and files involving systems, which include at least 5000 records and/or files.
  • Two years? high-volume customer service experience involving communications with a wide variety of ?customers,? such as other agencies, private businesses, professionals in the community, and internal employees and administrators. Communications must include both verbal/telephonic, email, and written correspondence
  • Work experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully handle a demanding workload with overlapping deadlines, and which requires great attention to detail, perseverance, initiative, and ability to function well taking direction.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal accessibility, of our students, faculty, staff and the public.

    Work Schedule

    Typically M-F 8am ? 5pm, but may be required to work evenings and/or weekends to fulfill special projects and other needs of the department. Position is overtime eligible. Advance notice of schedule changes will be provided in compliance with the applicable bargaining unit agreement.

      Provide Support to the Wednesday?s Child Program

      • Assist in writing, completion and presentation of reports, special projects and assignments, and program updates.
      • Recruit and/or maintain community partnerships with community sponsors, local media, businesses, and volunteers throughout the state.
      • Work collaboratively with Department staff in providing child-welfare permanency services and discuss recruitment needs and activities.
      • Assist in developing and maintaining profiles to be photo-listed on various sites.
      • Assist in the organizing and participate in recruitment events, presentations, and targeted promotions.
      • Initiate P-card purchases to support operations, marketing, and events. Ensure funds are available and that the purchase is an allowable expense. Forward copies of all P-card transactions to the campus program coordinator.
      • Participate in the implementation of the child specific recruitment plan.
