About Circulation Clerk

What does a Circulation Clerk do?

As Circulation Clerks, we handle clerical tasks in a library. We provide help to the patrons. Our work demands us to have an excellent memory as well as organizing skill. We are responsible for arranging materials on the shelves. In case of any book gets damaged, we do repairs. We help patrons in finding the book they need. We charge patrons for in and out of the book. In case of delay in returning the book, we charge a fine. As Circulation Clerks, we issue as well as renew library cards. Our work also includes arranging new materials in the display.

  • handling clerical task as well as assisting patrons in finding material
  • arranging book materials on the shelves according to a proper sequence
  • issuing and renewing library cards to the patrons
  • sending notice and collecting fine in case of delay in returning material
