At Cisco, you don't get recognize for your contribution but rather how well you kiss up to your boss. The work culture is very toxic. There's a lot of bullying, and if you report to HR, they won't protect you. I don't recommend working here.

I was responsible for the companies within the Central America – Caribbean and North of South America that had Service and Support contracts been mostly the region largest Service Providers like BATELCO, CANTV, CODETEL among many others. Customer Satisfaction was key to renew the contracts on a yearly basis. Maintaining strong relationship with every person involved internally and with those from the TELCOS.

Pros and Cons
Best working environment, great team I’d had during my professional career.
Many times the travelers through the region were excessive.

I worked for a company that was acquired by Cisco. I was moved into a role that was contrary to my prior roles and the Role was not thoroughly defined As usual Cisco acquires companies for various reasons. Merge products into Cisco, Merge Talented employers into Cisco. To me it was not as much fun as it was at the company that was purchased by Cisco. It appeared Cisco did not have a plan on merging non Cisco people into there environment. My position within Cisco did not last long they offered an exit package which was below average and the layoffs were random without any reason provided. They said they have the right to layoff anyone they like and provide minimum exit package. It appears Cisco buys companies that maybe a threat to their business and usually do not incorporate the company and staff into their business model. They just destroy what they can and eliminate a competitor

Pros and Cons
I found no Pros, possibly reasonable health insurance but little else was improved
To many cons to label

Cisco's personnel policy, encompassing continuous ranking and firing of the "bottom 5%" results in a highly competitive and uncooperative work environment. In general, people attempt to climb to the top of the heap on the backs of their defeated co-workers. Incentive is provided to compete instead of cooperate, leading to painful, gridlocked decision making at all levels of the organization (due to the impetus to criticize the ideas of peers, then steal those ideas). Performance reviews are, in effect, replaced by regular layoffs. Continual paranoia is the pervading feeling and is necessary for survival in the Cisco corporate culture.

Pros and Cons
Good compensation and benefits, good perks at work (free coffee and snacks).
Toxic work environment, probably due to the "bottom 5%" policy.

We were constantly challenged ourselves to improve our work environment and automate/improve our work tools/process. Worked with top 10% of silicon Valley engineers. We automated most of our work processes. Our team worked like a clock. We had global team of engineers. Managed large team of over 75 engineers. Supported majority of team to build both Technical skills and Leadership skills. Technical skills included team 100% got their CCNA, over 80% got their CCNP and several team members got CCIE. Supported team to build on their Leadership skills by learning to be able to voice their concerns in the meetings, be able to present powerfully and be happy.

Pros and Cons
The company supported team to expand on their technical skills and well rewarded financially.
We enjoyed our job to the point that we lost track of time to balance work and family.

I worked with Cisco almost 5 yrs and they kept me on contract all the time. They moved me around and I was happy to locate to work. But the important thing I dislike is manager was unfair and they were favor of their people who worked long time for them. The Co-worker wasn’t corporate in team work, wasn’t share information about work while they needed my help to work. And when issues come up they’re always listen to their people and gave me a threatening to laid off. I’m very happy when I left Cisco and never came back. They called several times to rehire but thank you, I don’t want to work in unfair management.
