Brentwood is in the center of St. Louis County, 1.5 miles west of St. Louis and just south of Clayton, Missouri, the county seat. Forest Park, the St. Louis Science Center, the Art Museum, and the world-famous St. Louis Zoo are all within minutes of Brentwood. Brentwood is also conveniently located near most major highways. The City of Brentwood hopes that all workers will find personal fulfillment and success, as well as satisfying and productive work. Though their efforts are focused on serving the people of the city, they are also deeply concerned about their employees' well-being. Brentwood has eight parks with a number of amenities that the public can use for free or for a small charge. Meeting rooms, classes, and year-round skating are available at the Brentwood Recreation Complex and Ice Arena. Brentwood collaborates with the cities of Richmond Heights and Maplewood to provide more leisure opportunities to all residents of the three cities.
