City of Durham, often known as the 'Bull City,' is the county seat of Durham County in North Carolina, United States. Small part of the city's boundaries stretch into Orange and Wake counties. The city is situated along the Eno River in the Piedmont area's east-central portion. City of Durham is the largest city of the four-county Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Area, which has a population of 644,367 people according to the most recent U.S. Census Population Estimates. City of Durham is also included in the Raleigh-Durham-Cary Combined Statistical Area, usually known as the Research Triangle. City of Durham is home to a number of prestigious universities, including North Carolina Central University and Duke University.
