City of Friendswood is a city situated in the state of Texas in the United States. The Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan region includes it. The city is located in the counties of Harris and Galveston. Friendswood had a population of 35,805 people according to the 2010 census. City of Friendswood was called one of 100 'America's Best Places to Live' by CNN/Money magazine in 2007, making it one of 900 small communities to be recognized since the rankings began in 2005. Friendswood, in Galveston County's northwest corner, holds the distinction of being Texas' first permanent town founded as a Quaker colony. T. Hadley Lewis and Frank J. Brown led a group of Quakers that founded it in 1895.
