The city of Hickory is primarily located in Catawba County in the United States of North Carolina, with formal boundaries extending into Burke and Caldwell counties. It is the principal city of Hickory–Lenoir–Morganton MSA, with an estimated total population of 41,171 residents according to the 2019 census. Hank Guess is the mayor of the city of Hickory. Hickory was incorporated as a town in 1870 known as Hickory Tavern by Henry Robinson and 'Dolph' Shuford. It is a famous regional hub of North Carolina with over 365,000 people for commerce and recreation.
