The City of Los Angeles has a Mayor, City Controller, and City Attorney elected by City residents every four years for administration of the City. Presently, Eric Garcetti is the 42nd Mayor of Los Angeles. Fifteen City Council members from fifteen districts are elected by respective residents for four-year terms, Mayor appoints Members of Boards & Commissions subject to the approval of the City Council. There are nearly 44 departments and bureaus in the City of Los Angeles that are headed by General Managers wherein mayor appoints General Managers subject to confirmation by the City Council. There is also a Neighborhood Councils to promote public participation in City governance and decision-making processes. In order to increase transparency, the City also shares data on Open Data Portal. The 311 call center provides many facilities to connect to City services and general City information. The LA Business Portal provides all the information related to business.
