MALIBU is a coastal community in Los Angeles County, California. It is located about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of the metropolis of Los Angeles. The city is famous for its Mediterranean environment and a 34-kilometer (21-mile) length of the Malibu shoreline that was included in the City of Malibu in 1991. The elite Malibu Colony has long been home to Hollywood superstars. The Ventureo Chumash village of Humaliwo was given the name Malibu, which means 'The Surf Sounds Loudly.' This pre-colonial town, which is now part of the State Park, was located near Malibu Lagoon. Summers in this region is hot and dry, with no average monthly temperatures exceeding 71.6 degrees Fahrenheit (22 degrees Celsius).
