The city of Midland is situated in the state of Texas, United States. It is considered as a growing urban center with a healthy economy and a vibrant downtown in Texas located on the Southern Plains of the state's western area. It is also called the 'Tall City' in Texas because of the impressive downtown buildings that can be seen for miles on the horizon when entering the city. Midland City was founded in 1884 as the midway station between Fort Worth and El Paso on the Texas and Pacific Railroad. The City of Midland is a nice place featuring a semi-arid climate with hot summers and cool, mild winters.
