Job Description

The City of Naperville is seeking a dynamic Enterprise Solution Project Manager to lead the management and ongoing optimization of CityWorks, the City’s Asset Management and Work Order solution. The Enterprise Solution Project Manager is part of the IT Department which continues to transform, taking the City to a cloud-centric environment. Recently completed was a migration to Exchange Online, Office365, Sharepoint Online, Skype for Business, Windows 10 deployment and the SaaS ERP Project – Tyler Munis. The Solution Project Manager will lead the city-wide effort to standardize and optimize the CityWorks platform, partner with different stakeholder groups to deploy an end-to-end solution that enables asset management, warehouse management, work order management, resident engagement, streamlining workflows and improving collaboration between departments. The CityWorks Project Manager is responsible for the business processes as well as software configurations and integrations that support CityWorks. This person will interface with different stakeholder groups and will be responsible for the ongoing progress of the CityWorks project, including consistent and effective communication, optimization of workflows, and managing escalation and mitigating risk. Key responsibilities include: · Coordinates and integrates project activities across departments, within the IT Department and deliverables from vendors to support project and City-wide goals. · Monitors, tracks a nd reports project progress and performance, adjusts project activities as appropriate. Reports schedule, cost, and scope variances to project stakeholders on a regular basis. Identifies, manages and mitigates project risks and issues. · Assists with the review, evaluation, and scheduling of departmental requests for new application systems, modifications, and changes to existing application systems through leading and participating in a variety of governance committees. · Trains and mentors other team members in areas of project management as needed. · Assists in the development of requests for proposal specifications for application software and systems to be developed or procured from outside vendors. Coordinates and monitors activities of consultants and vendors that are involved in system implementation and/or integration. · Maintains necessary documentation of project implementation activities, and systems that have been implemented. · Works with stakeholders to develop, execute and maintain acceptance test plans. · Facilitates regular status meetings and communication with project team including vendors. Required Education and Experience · Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or a related field. · Minimum of 5 years of full-lifecycle Project Management experience of large-scale, complex software solutions consisting of many team members and senior stakeholders as well as working with third party vendors. · Superior communication skills, both verbally and in writing and in expressing technical functions in non-technical terms. Strong knowledge of the principles of computer systems, procedures, analysis, software design and development and software lifecycle management. · Effective influencer and ability to work with large, cross-functional teams to effect necessary process changes to fully leverage the standardized and optimized CityWorks solution. Preferred Education and Experience · Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or a related field. · Experience with CityWorks and/or GIS highly desirable Licenses, Certifications · Possession of a PMI, PMP or related certification is a plus.
