after 30 years in claims with several companies and many claim types, it seems same everywhere -- turnover is high everywhere either by design, or poor management mentorship, as it saves money, Hire young and inexpensive, move out the higher paid, experienced people and meet budget goals. beware when they bring in upper management from outside rather than promoting their own, who know the company and mission, as a decent job can become an overworked nightmare overnight. it will never be said, but IMHO, its done to reduce personnel and better the bottom line thru an outsider rather than a long term employee who knows the folks being cut. personnel cost the company considerable money considering not just salary, but insurances, taxes, benefits, time off, making raises with experience adding to that cost. doing a good job is not going to save you, but add to the workload until the days are so long, domestic issues start, burn out sets in, and quality starts to slide - a perfect basis for replacement with less expensive (or experienced) people. unfortunately, the customers suffers the most in the shuffle.
