Clara Maass General Hospital is a facility in Belleville, Essex County, New Jersey, USA. It's part of the wellbeing of Barnabas. It was established as the Newark German Clinic in 1868. It was changed in 1952 in honour of Clara Maass, a retired nurse who studied at the Christina Trefz Nurses Training School in the facility, and became the hospital's charge nurse. The death of Maass in 1901 throughout yellow fever trials drew public interest. In 1956, a new building was constructed in Belleville, often alluded to as the The Hospital in the Park because of its location adjacent Branch Brook Park. More than 550 doctors and a total of 1,600 staff were working at the hospital in 2009.
