Job Description
Our routes are all 1-day routes, so you'll be home daily. Benefits start immediately. WORK SAFE HOME SAFE is one of our mottos at McLane Company. Must be 21 years of age Valid CDL Class A License Minimum of 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor trailer driving experience Must meet McLane's MVR and Risk Rating qualifications Excellent customer service skills Requires high degree of attention, skill, and dexterity in the control of tractor-trailer and in preventing damage to materials and trailer equipment Ability to lift and move product and pallets weighing up to 75 lbs. TASKS
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
- Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
SKILLS
- Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
- Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others.

- Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
