Classical Conversations exists to lead the home-centered education movement by educating parents and students all of the classical learning tools so that they can discover God's created order and beauty. As a result, it empowers others to do the same. It was founded in Southern Pines, North Carolina. Classical Conversations achieves its objective and purpose through building and supporting Classical Conversations communities across the United States and in numerous countries, as well as through empowering parents through Parent Practicums in the classical, Christian education of their children. Classical Conversations has always been and will always be about family—the Bortins family following God's lead in educating other families how to raise their children in the way they should go.
