About Clerical Assistant

What does a Clerical Assistant do?

As Clerical Assistants, we are responsible for assisting clerks by answering phone calls, sorting the daily mail, and maintaining filing systems. We type forms and other documents, maintain data using computer systems, and organize office files. Using office equipment to check mails and sorting and maintaining filing systems is one of our daily responsibilities. We maintain inventory on office supplies and complete assignments and projects as required by supervisors. Working as Clerical Assistants, we oversee and help new employees and resolve their issues.
