What does a Clinical Assistant do?

We, clinical assistants, are healthcare providers. Our job is to provide staff and administrative assistance to a medical clinic. We screen and schedule appointments, monitor and refer phone calls, and communicate with patients. We assist patients with clerical, word processing, and staff support to the unit. We help with clinical or laboratory-based procedures as required by the supervisors. We manage patients, run diagnostic tests and keep records. We work at clinics, outpatients programs, and other medical facilities. We work to provide our patients a pleasing experience and a superior level of care.

Core tasks:

  • maintaining patients data records.
  • preparing patient's files.
  • setting up examination and procedure rooms.
  • sterilizing medical equipment and sanitization used areas.
